A family owned and operated custom log and timber frame manufacturer based in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada, Confederation Log & Timber Frame is an international company building commercial and residential projects since 1979.
Our custom Design Centre and 3D Walkthroughs give customers a perspective of what their house will look like before we get into production. We virtually walk you through every room in your house to show exactly what your home will look like inside and out. During production we pre-assemble your logs and timbers in our Production Facility and allow you to view it before delivery. This way when it arrives on site, it’s a re-assembly. Also, we inventory air dried material that is dried for 1-2 years and has a moisture content of approx. 14%. All of our material is FSC certified and grown from Northern Ontario forests. Having Northern Ontario white pine allows the growth rings to be tight and the wood stable. We offer western red cedar as well but in either case the heartwood is part of our specification which allows for minimal checking, and shrinking.
Every plan Confederation does is totally custom. We have a design gallery on our website that shows over 100 plans but every plan we do is modified to suit individual needs and wants. Feel free to customize, shrink, expand, etc. to end up with the perfect plan. There’s no additional charge for a custom design.
Confederation has won awards for projects, sustainability, and unique designs. The house shown here was voted one of the years best homes by over 400,000 voters. Each Confederation is pre-cut with dovetail corners and a direct thru-bolt system applying 8000 lbs of downward pressure. All electrical holes and plugs are predrilled as well so onsite mechanics are simplified.
Our Standard Packages consists of everything necessary for a closed to weather shell. It’s the subfloor, logs, windows, doors, soffits, fascia, complete roof, interior studded walls, etc. It’s 100% complete from the outside and ready to finish inside. Once on site, we have builder options and on site assistance to help you build your home. We are there every step of the way and have over 40 years of satisfied customers!
