Trees are the perfect choice for a child’s bedroom in a log or timber home. They can be used just for decoration or function as a cool way to climb into bunk beds. Note the corrugated tin ceiling and the clever built-in cubbyholes at the head of each bed in the righthand photo.

What child doesn’t want to enter his or her bedroom via a slide from the hallway? When everyone is tucked in, the slide can be raised with a rope pulley system. For additional fun, there’s a plank and rope bridge above the slide.

All children love bunk beds. Four kids can share this bedroom but each is given a bit of privacy with the walls between the bunks. Ladders and plenty of storage were built into the beds.
